The War of Balanzasar

As the humans' knowledge increased, so did their power and greed. Small and sporadic conflicts between neighbors escalated into wars between nations, and before too long, the humans began using magic to cause death and destruction.

Humans even challenged the gods. Using the runes, they tried to transform their appearance, create unthinkable monsters, and enslave dragons and the elements.

A century-long war broke out, and little by little, all Taboreans were drawn into the fight, which lasted until nothing remained untouched. This long war was named after the most terrible of battles: The War of Balanzasar.

Eventually, the enslaved dragons and elements broke their chains and were free again. Because they hated the humans that had enslaved them, they destroyed everything mankind had built before they and the elements left for other worlds, . These events are called Heaven's Punishment.

Although the war had ended, there was no peace between quarreling factions. Nations with any power attacked their weaker neighbors, and the suffering of those attacked was even greater than during The War of Balanzasar.
